SQL Server DBA, Mid-Level

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with SQL Server to provide support for operations, monitoring, maintenance, and assistance with database environments.

• Conduct backup and restore processes following established protocols.

• Oversee SQL Server jobs, alerts, logs, and events.

• Carry out basic maintenance tasks, including index rebuilds/reorganizations and updates to statistics.

• Monitor CPU, memory, and disk utilization, in addition to tracking database growth.

• Execute straightforward T-SQL scripts and assist with minor query modifications.

• Document processes, routines, and incidents meticulously.

• Aid in the validation of low-impact change scripts.

• Support development teams by executing scripts and running simple queries.

• Adhere to version control and change management procedures, as well as operational best practices.

• Identify alerts concerning blocking, job failures, disk space issues, and outages, escalating to the Mid-Level/Senior team when necessary.

• Facilitate security and audit functions by applying permissions according to established standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Fundamental knowledge of SQL Server.

• Familiarity with T-SQL, encompassing queries, joins, filters, and basic functions.

• Introductory understanding of indexes, statistics, and recovery models.

• Capability to adhere to technical procedures and document actions taken.

• Eagerness to learn about tuning, automation, and troubleshooting.

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Information Technology; OR having completed any undergraduate degree along with a certificate from a postgraduate course in Information Technology of at least 360 hours.

• Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana and Azure Monitor.

• Familiarity with DMVs and basic performance analysis techniques.

• Introductory knowledge of Azure cloud environments.

• Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and basic pipeline concepts.
