Speech Language Pathologist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and assist in the prevention of communication and swallowing disorders in children.

• Conduct screenings and assessments for students with speech-language impairments.

• Provide speech-language therapy services.

• Record and document student performance.

• Support the student support team (SST) and response to intervention (RTI) processes.

• Manage caseloads focused solely on speech.

• Ensure compliance for speech-only case managers.

• Adhere to regulatory compliance standards.

• Educate students and families on the use of appropriate communication technologies, including alternative and augmentative communication devices.

• Maintain comprehensive files and records, including progress reports, activity logs, treatment plans, and other documentation.

• Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars to share and collect information.

• Collaborate with school and community/family partnerships using a student-centered instructional model.

⛳️ Requirements

• Certification from the South Carolina Department of Education is mandatory.

• Licensure in Speech-Language Pathology from the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation is required.

• Candidates must reside in South Carolina or adjacent states.

• Open to residents of surrounding states: North Carolina and Georgia.

• Must be eligible to obtain South Carolina certification.

• A Master's degree in speech-language pathology, along with three (3) years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.

• In-depth knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) due process requirements is essential.

• Extensive knowledge and skills in conducting and interpreting comprehensive speech-language evaluations.

• Proficient in delivering speech-language therapy services.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with other staff members to plan and implement speech-language services for children.

• Capability to create and deliver staff development initiatives.

• Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web applications.

• Willingness to travel 20% of the time for meetings, professional development, etc.

• Must pass background check requirements.

• Ability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.

• Capability to maintain a professional home office without distractions during work hours.

• Management experience is preferred.
