This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide evaluation, intervention, and ongoing care for adults experiencing progressive neurodegenerative disorders through a completely remote telehealth approach.
• Execute virtual assessments in speech, language, cognitive-communication, motor speech, voice, and dysphagia-risk.
• Implement standardized assessments and functional task analyses tailored for telehealth settings.
• Analyze results, develop diagnostic impressions, set functional objectives, and create measurable, patient-focused treatment plans.
• Identify when further assessment, referral, or consultation with a Senior SLP is necessary.
• Administer evidence-based interventions for cognitive-communication, motor speech, voice banking, message banking, AAC, and dysphagia-related issues.
• Modify intervention strategies as clinical requirements, functional priorities, and disease progression evolve.
• Provide education to caregivers and family members on communication techniques, cueing strategies, and environmental adaptations.
• Collaborate with neurologists, care coordinators, behavioral health professionals, and senior SLPs.
• Engage in interdisciplinary case discussions, clinical consultations, and case evaluations.
• Ensure prompt, precise, and confidential EMR documentation in line with ASHA standards, HIPAA regulations, state licensing laws, and payer requirements.
• Complete evaluations, session notes, progress reports, and AAC funding documentation within specified deadlines.
• Manage a diverse caseload that includes conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, ALS, Huntington’s disease, FTD/PPA variants, and other related neurologic issues.
• Master’s degree (M.A. or M.S.) in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Active state license, or eligibility for licensure, in at least one US state; willingness to acquire additional state licenses as required.
• 3–5+ years of clinical experience as a licensed SLP.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of direct experience with adult neurodegenerative populations.
• Competence with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Basic knowledge of AAC technology.
• Familiarity with remote/telepractice software.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Active LSVT LOUD or SPEAK OUT! certification is preferred, or willingness to receive training within 90 days of hire.
• Experience with multi-state telepractice delivery and virtual service workflows is preferred.
• Exposure to AAC evaluations, device trials, and funding documentation is preferred.
• Clinical experience in specialized outpatient clinics, memory care, or multidisciplinary neuro clinics is preferred.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; Synapticure cannot sponsor work visas.
• Work remotely from any location within the 50 United States.
