Specialty Vehicle Technical Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide training, mentorship, quality control, and technical assistance for Specialty Vehicle material damage.

• Manage complex specialty vehicle material damage claims with minimal supervision.

• Conduct training sessions focused on specialty vehicle material damage handling and appraisal.

• Act as a subject matter expert for colleagues, field teams, technicians, and vendors.

• Keep abreast of National General Specialty Vehicle policies and the broader insurance industry.

• Receive claim assignments and accurately document necessary information.

• Review photographic evidence, assess repairability, and perform assessments or total-loss evaluations.

• Evaluate settlement options for compliance with regulations and fair claims practices.

• Identify and refer potential subrogation or fraud cases based on physical evidence.

• Stay updated on changes in the collision repair industry, statutes, and regulations.

• Communicate with customers regarding repair processes, settlements, and offers when necessary.

• Document activity in files as well as payment or settlement details.

• Conduct quality reviews of appraisal files across various channels, including staff, independent appraisers, DRP shops, and vendors.

• Generate accurate estimates up to $300,000 with little to no supervision and manage larger estimates as required.

• Participate in catastrophe response events.

• Travel for field staff ride-alongs, site audits, and training activities.

• Take ownership of issues that may affect policyholders or loss participants.


⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in estimating using an automated estimating system.

• Ability to accurately evaluate significant damage on RVs and/or commercial vehicles.

• Hands-on training in a repair facility or training center focused on Specialty Vehicles.

• Strong organizational and time management abilities; capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines.

• Comprehensive knowledge of claims policies and procedures.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

• General understanding of vehicle property damage repair and replacement, including mechanical components and other exposures.

• Ability to identify, investigate, and conclude material damage coverage inquiries.

• Basic knowledge of unibody/conventional frame damage and repair processes.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

• Demonstrated initiative, mature judgment, and discretion.

• Ability to empathize with customers and resolve conflicts effectively.

• Capability to develop and deliver material damage training both remotely and in person.

• Adjuster license in the home state or in a state that requires examination and continuing education.

• Prior experience in handling material damage claims.

• Management experience within a repair facility.

• General understanding of insurance law as it pertains to claims.

• Training in fraud detection.

• Proficiency in RV Estimatics, RV Policy, Motorcycle Estimatics, and Heavy Equipment Estimating.

• I-CAR Certification.

• Additional specialty certifications such as RVIA/RVDA, RVTA, or ASE.

• Authorization to work in the United States; the company does not sponsor work visas.

• A dedicated, private workspace and reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload for remote work.
