This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Implement brand strategies and tactics in the field.
• Oversee assigned territory and targeted accounts.
• Foster strong customer relationships and address customer needs to enhance both short- and long-term sales performance.
• Achieve sales performance, brand KPIs, financial goals, and marketing objectives.
• Develop pre-call plans utilizing SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations.
• Address objections, concerns, and misunderstandings to facilitate calls to action for closing sales calls.
• Attend to customer needs and cultivate trusted relationships with clients.
• Design and execute call plans to maximize customer coverage and sales opportunities.
• Gain insights into customer needs, market landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, diseases, products, clinical information, and sales expertise.
• Provide market intelligence to the in-field team, brand team, and sales manager.
• Clearly communicate AbbVie's value proposition to assigned healthcare providers.
• Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.
• Travel approximately 20% of the time.
• Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, pharmacy, business-related field, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated success in sales.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive aspects.
• Excellent business acumen.
• Proficient in the use of business tools.
• Capable of strategic and critical thinking.
• Skill in identifying customer styles/behaviors and adapting sales approaches accordingly.
• Ability to work effectively within a matrix environment.
• Proficient in the English language, both verbal and written.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving standards.
• Capable of traveling sufficiently to cover the territory, including overnight training events and sales meetings.
• Must have the ability to operate a personal vehicle, company car or truck, or powered material-handling equipment.
• Must meet applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and maintain good standing or be eligible to obtain credentials, which may include background checks, drug screenings, proof of immunizations/vaccinations, fingerprinting, and specific state or city licenses.
• Preferred: Proven sales performance within related therapeutic areas.
• Preferred: Experience in the commercial pharmaceutical industry, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed healthcare, or marketing.
