This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Implement brand strategies and tactics in the field.
• Oversee assigned territory and targeted accounts.
• Cultivate customer relationships and address their needs to enhance sales performance.
• Achieve sales performance, brand KPIs, financial objectives, and marketing goals.
• Develop pre-call strategies and perform post-call assessments.
• Address objections and secure calls to action during sales interactions.
• Attend to customer needs and establish trusted relationships with clients.
• Create and implement call strategies to maximize customer coverage, frequency, access, and sales opportunities.
• Gain insights into customer needs, territory market dynamics, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease states, products, clinical topics, and sales.
• Relay market intelligence to in-field, brand, and sales management teams.
• Distinguish AbbVie’s value proposition to healthcare providers.
• Identify, nurture, and sustain relationships with disease-state experts and advocates.
• Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field preferred; or relevant and equivalent industry experience required.
• If lacking a bachelor’s degree: a minimum of five years of experience, including three or more years in the pharmaceutical, health, or science industries preferred, along with a high school diploma/GED required.
• Comprehensive scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge.
• Strong business acumen with proficient use of business tools.
• Strategic and critical thinking skills.
• Capability to identify customer styles/behaviors and adjust selling methods accordingly.
• Ability to formulate sales strategies and innovative solutions.
• Proficiency in operating effectively within a matrix environment.
• Experience in leadership and peer coaching.
• Proven success in leadership and support roles with increasing responsibilities.
• Experience in the commercial pharmaceutical industry preferred, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing.
• Proficient in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Must meet applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing or eligible to achieve credentials.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and comply with safe driving requirements.
• Capability to operate a personal or company vehicle or powered material-handling equipment.
