This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Implement the brand strategy and tactics in the field.
• Oversee the assigned territory and targeted accounts.
• Establish customer relationships and address customer needs to enhance both short- and long-term sales performance.
• Achieve sales performance, brand KPIs, financial objectives, and marketing goals.
• Develop pre-call strategies and perform post-call assessments to boost sales effectiveness.
• Address objections, clarify misunderstandings, and secure actionable follow-ups during sales interactions.
• Meet customer expectations and foster trusted relationships with clients.
• Formulate and implement call strategies that adhere to call metrics and optimize customer engagement and frequency.
• Acquire in-depth knowledge of customer needs, market dynamics, competitors, market segments, accounts, diseases, products, clinical topics, and sales.
• Communicate market insights with field, brand, and sales management teams.
• Distinguish AbbVie's value proposition to healthcare providers.
• Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with disease-state experts and advocates.
• A bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a related business field is preferred, or equivalent relevant industry experience is required.
• If lacking a bachelor's degree, a minimum of five years of relevant industry experience is necessary, with at least three years preferably in the pharmaceutical, health, or science sectors.
• A high school diploma or GED is required when considering the experience alternative.
• Demonstrated record of leadership success.
• Strong presentation abilities.
• Solid understanding of business principles.
• Proficient in the use of business tools.
• Capable of strategic and critical thinking.
• Ability to recognize customer behavior/styles and adjust the sales approach accordingly.
• Effective operation within a matrix environment.
• Preferred success in sales performance within relevant therapeutic areas.
• Preferred experience in the commercial pharmaceutical industry, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed healthcare, or marketing.
• Preferred comprehensive scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is preferred for roles in non-English-speaking countries.
• Must meet applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and maintain good standing or be eligible to obtain them.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving standards.
• Capability to operate a personal vehicle, company car/truck, or powered material-handling equipment.
