This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Implement brand strategies and tactics in the field.
• Oversee the designated territory and targeted accounts.
• Cultivate customer relationships and address customer needs to enhance sales performance.
• Achieve sales targets, brand KPIs, financial goals, and marketing objectives.
• Develop pre-call plans utilizing SMART objectives and perform post-call assessments.
• Address objections, concerns, and misunderstandings to successfully finalize sales calls.
• Attend to customer needs and establish trustworthy customer relationships.
• Create and execute call plans that optimize customer coverage and frequency.
• Acquire knowledge about customer needs, territory dynamics, competitors, market segments, accounts, diseases, products, clinical information, and sales methodologies.
• Relay market intelligence to field, brand, and sales-management teams.
• Clearly articulate AbbVie’s value proposition to healthcare providers.
• Identify, nurture, and sustain relationships with disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.
• Travel approximately 20% of the time.
• Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field is preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience is required.
• In the absence of a bachelor’s degree: a minimum of five years of experience, including three or more years in the pharmaceutical, health, or science industry, along with a high school diploma/GED is required.
• Proactively recognizes customer styles/behaviors and adjusts the selling approach accordingly.
• Extensive knowledge of scientific principles, therapeutic areas, products, and competitive landscape.
• Strong business acumen and adeptness in utilizing business tools.
• Capable of strategic and critical thinking.
• Ability to function effectively within a matrix environment.
• Documented leadership experience and support success at district, regional, and/or organizational levels.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving criteria.
• Ability to travel sufficiently to cover the territory, including attending overnight training events and sales meetings.
• Competence in driving a personal vehicle, company car or truck, or powered material-handling equipment.
• Proficiency in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
• Must meet applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
• Must reside within a reasonable distance from Baltimore, MD.
