This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Implement AbbVie brand strategies and tactics in the field.
• Achieve sales performance, brand KPIs, financial goals, and marketing objectives.
• Oversee the designated territory and target accounts.
• Foster strong customer relationships and address customer needs.
• Develop pre-call plans utilizing SMART objectives and carry out post-call evaluations.
• Manage objections, misunderstandings, and concerns to successfully close sales calls.
• Meet customer needs and expectations while achieving mutually beneficial agreements.
• Create and execute call plans to fulfill metrics and enhance customer coverage and frequency.
• Acquire knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical information, and sales practices.
• Communicate market intelligence with the field team, brand team, and sales manager.
• Distinguish AbbVie’s value proposition to the assigned healthcare providers.
• Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.
• Collaborate with specialty physicians, pharmacists, nurses, field team members, sales management, marketing, training, customer excellence, and brand-plan stakeholders.
• Travel approximately 50% of the time.
• Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field is preferred.
• Relevant and equivalent industry experience may be accepted in place of a bachelor’s degree: a minimum of five years of experience, including three or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry is preferred.
• A high school diploma/GED is required when utilizing experience instead of a bachelor’s degree.
• Demonstrated success in sales is essential.
• Strong presentation skills are necessary.
• Ability to tailor selling strategies to customer styles and behaviors.
• Capacity to generate innovative ideas and solutions.
• Ability to influence others and act as a credible role model and resource.
• Collaborative skills for partnerships in district and matrix teams.
• Proven success in leadership and support roles with increasing responsibility.
• Understanding of how to leverage findings to create effective sales strategies.
• Experience in the commercial pharmaceutical industry is preferred, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing.
• Proficiency in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
• Capability to meet the credentialing requirements applicable to healthcare industry representatives.
• Good standing and/or eligibility to acquire necessary credentials.
• In-depth knowledge of scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive aspects.
• Strong business acumen and proficiency in using business tools.
• Strategic and critical thinking skills are essential.
• Ability to function effectively in a matrix environment.
• Capability to operate a personal vehicle or company car/truck or powered material-handling equipment.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening test.
• Ability to meet safe driving requirements.
