Specialty Pharmacy Technician, CPhT/ExCPT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +26 more states.

📋 Description

• Make phone calls to both new and existing patients of the Specialty Pharmacy.

• Enroll patients in specialty services, which include patient care management, copayment assistance programs, and billing details.

• Handle incoming calls from patients, prescribers, and other healthcare professionals.

• Reach out to physicians to gather necessary information.

• Oversee assigned workflow queues.

• Accurately document information and set up prescription orders in detail.

• Register new Specialty Pharmacy patients and ensure that their records include demographics, allergies, medication history, comorbidities, and payer information.

• Convert prescription and dispensing information into pharmacy dispensing software.

• Collect information and assist providers and insurance companies in managing prior authorizations.

• Support other facility areas with pharmacy technician responsibilities as necessary.

• Adhere to applicable federal and state regulations and ethical standards.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required.

• Some college education is preferred.

• National Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and/or registration/licensure are required based on the employee’s state of residence.

• At least two years of experience in pharmacy support or a healthcare setting is preferred.

• Must be able to work scheduled hours; shifts may vary according to department needs.

• The hours of operation are from 8 AM to 7 PM Monday through Thursday and from 8 AM to 6 PM on Friday.
