Pharmacy Technician Supervisor – Prior Authorization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +31 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead the daily operations of the prior authorization technician team.

• Ensure that case processing is timely, accurate, and compliant.

• Mentor team members and act as a subject matter expert.

• Enhance operational workflows and address any escalated operational issues.

• Cultivate a supportive and growth-focused environment.

• Promote quality, regulatory compliance, and overall team performance.

• Supervise daily technician workflows, including queue monitoring and task assignments.

• Track productivity and quality metrics closely.

• Provide regular one-on-one coaching, conduct performance reviews, and facilitate cross-training.

• Resolve complex intake issues, escalated inquiries from providers, and system glitches.

• Identify and execute process improvements.

• Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to create, update, and organize job aids and team training resources.

• Participate in a rotated weekend and holiday on-call schedule.

• Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations.

• Execute other duties as assigned.

• Report directly to the Manager of Pharmacy Utilization Management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active, unrestricted Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT).

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a pharmacy-related field.

• At least 2 years of experience in performing pharmacy reviews for a managed care plan or pharmacy benefits manager.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in people or project management.

• Bachelor's degree (preferred).

• Experience in managing a team of pharmacy technicians involved in utilization management operations (preferred).

• Background in developing and managing key performance indicators/metrics for an operational team (preferred).

• Strong attention to detail along with excellent written and verbal communication skills (preferred).

• Must reside in one of the eligible U.S. states or the District of Columbia.
