Specialist, Strategic Policy, Innovation, and Research

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Support the project team leader in the development and implementation of project plans

• Monitor deliverables, milestones, and overall outcomes

• Create policy briefs, reports, presentations, and communication materials

• Convert complex research, policy analyses, and project conclusions into actionable insights and recommendations

• Aid in the design and execution of research aimed at enhancing student success

• Assist in both qualitative and quantitative research activities

• Help with data collection through interviews, focus groups, and case studies

• Perform data analysis using publicly accessible data

• Conduct secondary research and integrate findings from higher education research and policy

• Establish and maintain relationships with FoundationCCC partners, the Chancellor’s Office, and various stakeholders in higher education, government, and nonprofit sectors

• Keep abreast of federal, state, and system office policy development initiatives

• Participate in Chancellor’s Office events, Board of Governors meetings, legislative hearings, briefings, and other pertinent meetings, either virtually or in person

• Contribute to student success and equity in higher education through the strategic planning and execution of various initiatives

⛳️ Requirements

• At least three (3) years of relevant work experience in stakeholder engagement, policy development, research, or project management

• Familiarity with higher education systems and structures, including collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders

• Experience in conducting secondary and applied research

• Proven ability to write comprehensive reports in a professional context

• Experience managing multiple projects with overlapping deadlines

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

• Capacity to produce clear, professional, and audience-appropriate reports, briefs, and presentations

• Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently while effectively managing multiple priorities

• Strategic and innovative thinker, adaptable in high-pressure environments, with strong problem-solving abilities to address emerging needs

• Must be a resident of California

• Some travel may be required
