Specialist I – Church Engagement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Develop educational and training materials to engage parish-based volunteers in fundraising, advocacy, and awareness initiatives.

• Assist in creating and executing engagement resources and activities tailored for high school and university students.

• Facilitate the ongoing involvement of volunteers from parishes and schools.

• Establish and maintain tracking systems for volunteer participation and generate regular analyses.

• Enhance the visibility of CRS content on church communication platforms by conducting research, mapping, and disseminating resources.

• Utilize existing data management systems to document and report on activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in social justice, social work/advocacy, non-profit management, business, pastoral ministry, social sciences, community organizing, or a related field.

• A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience.

• Experience working within the structures and culture of the Catholic Church, engaging with diverse church audiences.

• Background in fundraising or similar initiatives.

• Willingness to be flexible with work hours as necessary.

• Comprehensive knowledge of the Catholic Church and its social teachings in the United States.

• Understanding of legislative advocacy and constituent mobilization strategies.

• Proficient in MS Office Suite, web conferencing tools, Salesforce, and other pertinent information systems.

• Capability to adapt in a dynamic organizational environment and be flexible with changing roles and responsibilities.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, relational, and organizational skills.

• Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

• Proven creativity and innovation in work.

• Fluency in English.

• Must be prepared and able to travel up to 10% of the time.
