This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Deliver nutritional planning, counseling, and documentation informed by evidence-based peer-reviewed research.

• Provide guidance to the chain of command regarding nutrition and performance nutrition matters.

• Create and execute performance nutrition programs tailored for special operations forces personnel in garrison, TAD/TDY, and deployed environments.

• Establish nutritional protocols and guidelines for rehabilitation and performance enhancement.

• Work in collaboration with the HP Program Manager and/or Coordinator to implement protocols and guidelines.

• Consult on dining facility and/or galley nutrition, serving as a liaison between food service and command.

• Offer individual and group counseling sessions focused on performance nutrition.

• Provide advice regarding supplementary nutrition, supplements, and performance-enhancing substances.

• Maintain educational materials, sports nutrition supplies, equipment, facilities, and documentation.

• Participate in meetings, necessary training, in-service training, conferences, and courses.

• Execute administrative tasks, workload records, education programs, quality assurance duties, and peer reviews.

• Create and disseminate training materials.

• Document work, utilization, encounters, referrals, and other pertinent information in military electronic health records and HP databases.

• Collect and report data requested by HP management and USSOCOM HQ/POTFF personnel.

• Utilize computers, software, and technologies as necessary.

• Undertake other responsibilities within the scope of the position as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.

• Secret clearance is required or the ability to obtain one.

• Master’s-level degree in Nutrition Science or a related field is essential.

• American Dietetic Association Registered Dietitian (RD) certification is mandatory.

• Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) certification is required; this may be waived if other qualifications are met, but it should be obtained within six months.

• Current and valid state certification/licensure is necessary.

• Clinical practice privileges may need to be obtained and maintained.

• A minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience as a Performance Dietitian with individual and group athletes at NCAA Collegiate, Olympic, professional, and/or SOF Operator levels is required.

• Recent continuous embedded on-site Government civilian or contract experience at U.S. Army and/or Marine Corps Infantry Units may fulfill minimum qualifications.

• Proficient oral and written communication skills in English are required.

• Ability to meet the physical demands of SOF training, including hiking over rough terrain and working in austere environments.

• Capability to observe SOF training evolutions and assist with strength and conditioning assessments and training protocols.

• Ability to lift and handle loads and weights of up to 25 kilograms.

• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.

• Must provide front and back documentation of all training, certifications, and other relevant documentation.

• Compliance with safety, health, environmental, quality assurance, attendance, and training standards is essential.

• Prior military and/or SOF experience is preferred.

• Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification is preferred.
