This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Oversee the design and implementation of AI agents and automated workflows aimed at minimizing manual tasks within Fraud Operations.
• Develop and launch AI agents for automating merchant underwriting and conducting real-time investigations of suspicious customer activity.
• Analyze investigative workflows to pinpoint high-value automation prospects, delivering solutions that decrease handling times and enhance decision-making consistency.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Data, and Fraud Strategy & Analytics teams to transition AI and automation initiatives from prototype stages to full production.
• Set up guardrails, quality assurance measures, and human-in-the-loop controls to ensure accurate, explainable, and auditable automated decision-making.
• Provide analysis on suspicious merchants and customers to aid in investigations and escalation processes.
• Actively identify emerging fraud trends, high-risk merchants, and interconnected customer activities.
• Create data-driven prioritization models for investigators and enhance merchant oversight through in-depth analytical assessments.
• Design and maintain dashboards that monitor productivity, queue health, case outcomes, underwriting efficiency, and fraud trends.
• Transition from spreadsheet-based reporting to automated reporting systems and generate ad-hoc reports for leadership and stakeholders.
• Establish and monitor KPIs such as decision-making speed, false positive rates, and investigator workload.
• Collaborate with Fraud Strategy & Analytics for enhancements in rules, policies, and models.
• Work alongside Product and Engineering teams to integrate automation and data tools into case management and merchant update workflows, including JIRA.
• Convey insights to investigators, leadership, and partner teams, driving projects from conception to execution.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required, ideally in a quantitative or technical discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or Data Science.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in analytics, data science, business intelligence, or a similar role within the Fraud domain.
• Strong skills in SQL and basic Python; adept at handling large, unstructured datasets.
• Practical expertise in constructing AI agents and LLM-based workflows, utilizing frameworks and APIs from leading AI providers to automate manual, judgment-intensive processes.
• Proficient in creating dashboards and visualizations using tools like Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or comparable platforms.
• A proactive builder’s mindset with a passion for identifying and automating manual processes.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, keen attention to detail, and the capability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, remote-first work environment.
• Familiarity with case management tools, JIRA, and workflow orchestration is preferred.
• Experience with anomaly detection, entity resolution, or link analysis is advantageous.
• Background in consumer finance, lending, lease-to-own, BNPL, payments, or fintech is a plus.
