This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.
• Supervise and innovate special education services tailored to diverse student requirements, ensuring quality education and adherence to regulations.
• Contribute to the leadership team and administrative staff by aiding in the development and training of the school’s special education philosophy.
• Maintain student records and files for special education in accordance with state laws and Department of Education regulations.
• Propose and formulate policies, procedures, and modifications for special education programs and compliance.
• Manage a reduced student caseload.
• Ensure adherence to paperwork and service time requirements for the assigned caseload.
• Uphold the confidentiality of student information and professional matters.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to enhance standardized and proficiency testing outcomes.
• Assist in the recruitment and training of Special Education staff.
• Coordinate with agencies that provide related services for students and oversee relevant contracts and agreements with the supervisor.
• Engage in continuous professional development training.
• Provide resources to support Special Education staff.
• Track and organize student accommodations for state and district assessments in collaboration with the Testing Manager.
• Act as the primary contact for external agencies and service providers.
• Work together with the State Reporting Coordinator to guarantee precise data collection and reporting for Special Education.
• Participate in faculty meetings, open houses, commencement events, student activities, professional learning communities, school problem-solving sessions, and curriculum planning.
• Conduct required home visits for students.
• Function as the LEA/District Representative during special education meetings.
• Execute other assigned responsibilities.
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree; a Master’s Degree is preferred.
• An active Special Education License in Oklahoma.
• Proficiency in computer applications, including the MS Office Suite, Google applications, email, and internet tools.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
• A genuine concern for children and a passion for teaching.
• Capability to collect, analyze, and interpret student data.
• Adaptability in decision-making, daily challenges, and job responsibilities.
• A strong sense of integrity.
• A collaborative team-player mindset.
• Ability to thrive in a diverse educational community.
• Knowledge of community and student demographics.
• Familiarity with the RTI process.
• Understanding of state proficiency assessments and state teaching standards.
• Successful completion of state-mandated criminal history checks and health evaluations.
• Physical capability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Must be a resident of Oklahoma.
