Solutions & Innovations Consultant – Mainframe, Ansible

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Serve as a software consultant on diverse client projects.

• Shape automation strategies tailored to client needs.

• Develop applications and revamp or transform platforms for cloud technologies.

• Employ Lean and Agile methodologies to tackle mission-critical challenges.

• Guide projects to successful outcomes.

• Implement continuous delivery practices to enhance software delivery speed.

• Collaborate within product-focused teams to create innovative customer experiences.

• Construct large-scale distributed systems using microservices.

• Provide technology solutions addressing client challenges.

• Utilize DevOps tools and practices for efficient software building and deployment.

⛳️ Requirements

• BA or BS degree or equivalent experience is required.

• At least 5 years of experience in customer-facing roles.

• Strong presentation skills.

• Proficient in diagnosing issues related to Compile, Assembly, and LinkEdit processes for z/OS.

• Experience in developing mainframe applications utilizing COBOL, PL/I, Assembler, Java, and EZT for z/OS.

• Familiarity with IBM CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ, Liberty, and z/OS Connect.

• Knowledge of z/OS source control platforms and processes such as Panvalet, Endevor, and SCLM.

• Understanding of IBM zEnterprise Hybrid Computing solutions, including zLinux, zCX, Db2, and IDAA.

• Experience with IBM Dependency Based Build and components like Groovy or YAML.

• Proficient in using the z/OS USS environment.

• Familiarity with an IDE for mainframe development, such as IBM IDz, BMC Compuware Topaz, or VSCode.

• Experience with Git-based source control systems.

• Knowledge of IBM UrbanCode Deploy.

• Familiarity with Ansible Automation Platform.

• Understanding of DevOps/DevSecOps methodologies and best practices.

• Up-to-date knowledge of IBM zEnterprise Hybrid Computing offerings, including zLinux, zCX, and IDAA.

• Current knowledge of DB2 DBA support for software development.

• Willingness to travel as required.

• Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.

• Capable of lifting up to 15 pounds occasionally.
