Solutions Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical and engineering information regarding products, services, or equipment by responding to inquiries and requests.

• Offer technical sales assistance throughout the sales process, which includes identifying opportunities, promoting solutions based on technical merits, addressing RFIs and RFPs, designing solutions, and determining solution sizes.

• Build and nurture relationships with customers and partners.

• Address complex challenges creatively and effectively, utilizing professional concepts along with the company's goals.

• Assist sales teams by providing technical presentations on products and services to both current customers and prospective clients.

• Work collaboratively with sales teams to gain insights into customer needs and deliver technical-sales support.

• Carry out proofs of concept (POCs) with clearly defined scopes of work (SOWs) and success metrics.

• Impart knowledge to customers and partners through demonstrations and practical training sessions.

• Gather and document product feedback and requests for enhancements (RFEs) for CTERA’s Product Management team.

• Process orders by coordinating with technical support personnel.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a Sales Engineer in the storage and/or cloud sectors.

• Excellent presentation and technical analysis capabilities.

• Willingness to travel up to 50%, including some overnight stays.

• Familiarity with storage solutions such as network-attached storage (NAS), file systems, and object storage.

• Understanding of CIFS/SMB and NFS protocols.

• Experience in deploying, securing, and managing file servers, as well as backup and archiving software.

• At least 2 years of experience with VMware, holding Datacenter Virtualization Certification, or being an AWS/Azure Certified Solution Architect.

• Solid understanding of the TCP/IP stack and protocols including HTTP, TLS, DNS, LDAP, and SAML v2.

• Proficient in using network troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark.

• Experience with Microsoft Windows Desktop and Server Platforms, including ADDS and DNS roles.

• Knowledge of Linux operating systems, including RHEL, CentOS, and Ubuntu.

• Practical experience with enterprise backup and recovery solutions.

• Experience in documentation, including editing guides, sales presentations, network configuration diagrams, and asset management.

• Preferred locations include Colorado, Arizona, or Utah.
