Solutions Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Lead the technical pre-sales initiative in collaboration with Account Executives to secure deals.

• Establish long-term customer relationships and assist clients in successfully implementing the CDP platform.

• Collaborate with potential customers to perform in-depth discovery and comprehend business drivers, challenges, and technical objectives.

• Develop and present customer-focused solution designs, proposed architectures, and business outcomes to developers, architects, CTOs, and CIOs.

• Work alongside Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Services, Support, Training, and Engineering teams to communicate Cloudera’s vision to clients.

• Guide customers on use case patterns through discovery sessions and requirements workshops.

• Convert customer feedback into actionable items for the product roadmap.

• Team up with colleagues and management to establish the technical selling strategy.

• Engage in Cloudera community and evangelism efforts, including blogging, meetups, and industry events.

• Contribute to both internal and external knowledge repositories.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of relevant experience in a pre-sales customer-facing position such as Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, technical consultant, Solutions Architect, or a similar role.

• Proven experience as a co-seller, providing solutions to business leaders and technical advocates in enterprise settings.

• Skilled in conducting technical discovery, whiteboarding proposed solution architectures, running demonstrations, building technical proofs of concept, and showcasing business value.

• Familiarity with the Apache Hadoop ecosystem, including HDFS, YARN, Spark, Hive, Impala, Kudu, and Solr.

• Competence with public cloud infrastructures such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or IBM Cloud.

• A keen interest in obtaining a public cloud certification.

• Proficient with Linux OS and experience with bare metal, VM, and distributed container platforms like Kubernetes or OpenShift.

• Some background in private cloud infrastructures, encompassing server hardware, storage, and networking.

• Knowledge of Data Lakes, Data Warehousing concepts, SQL, relational database patterns, and application integration.

• Basic programming skills in Java, Scala, or Python.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

• Awareness of differentiators within the competitive landscape.

• Interest in Data Science and a clear understanding of the distinction between Data Engineering and Applied Science.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a Technical Field.

• Preferred: expertise in enterprise platform security and data governance, open-source software development practices, NoSQL or operational databases, EDW, Data Science and ML, integration products, and data flow, queues, or stream processing.
