This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Influence the future of the big data environment by collaborating with advanced data engineering and data science teams.

• Work alongside customer stakeholders, product teams, and the wider customer-facing group to create architectures and solutions utilizing Databricks' platform and APIs.

• Assist a major AI-native client in navigating the competitive landscape, best practices, and implementation strategies.

• Cultivate technical champions within customer organizations.

• Collaborate with the sales team and provide technical guidance to help clients comprehend how Databricks addresses business challenges.

• Offer consulting services on Big Data architectures.

• Execute proofs of concept for key projects across data engineering, data science, machine learning, and SQL analysis workflows.

• Ensure validation of integrations with cloud services, proprietary tools, and third-party applications.

• Work in tandem with fellow Solutions Architects to support colleagues and users.

• Become a subject matter expert, advocate for, and recruit contributors for Databricks-inspired open-source initiatives such as Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow.

• Report directly to the Field Engineering Manager.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering, data science, technical architecture, or a similar pre-sales/consulting role.

• Proven experience in building distributed data systems.

• Proficient in programming and debugging with Python and SQL.

• Experience creating solutions with public cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• In-depth knowledge of data engineering technologies like Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka, as well as data science and machine learning technologies such as pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.

• Willingness to travel to client locations within your region.

• [Preferred] Degree in a quantitative field, such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Operations Research.

• Desirable: Databricks Certification.
