Solutions Architect – Estimating Supervisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with customers and sales teams to develop solutions, designs, scopes of work, and specifications for large-scale, complex projects.

• Engage in site surveys to assess conditions and challenges for crafting intricate, multi-technology electronic and physical security solutions.

• Take part in pre-bid meetings and technical discussions to evaluate project needs and unique requirements.

• Lead the creation of detailed and comprehensive cost estimates for large, multi-site or country security projects.

• Drive the security design development for projects where Convergint acts as the security design consultant.

• Review project specifications, blueprints, and RFPs to prepare accurate and competitive proposals.

• Coordinate with sales, engineering, procurement, and operations to ensure estimates align with project scope, technical requirements, and timelines.

• Collaborate with partners to discover new and optimal technologies for solutions and designs.

• Source and manage pricing from specialized vendors, subcontractors, and partners.

• Recognize project risks, special handling needs, and potential solutions that meet regulatory and customer expectations.

• Provide mentorship to junior estimators with technical guidance and strategic support.

• Participate in client meetings and presentations to clarify project scope and articulate the value proposition.

• Work alongside installation teams to verify the feasibility and accuracy of estimates.

• Utilize industry knowledge regarding regulations and compliance requirements.

• Monitor project costs, risks, and margins to enhance pricing strategies.

• Ensure estimates are consistent with company pricing strategies and remain competitive in the market.

• Prepare and deliver precise proposals to both internal and external clients.

• Execute other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7-9 years of experience in design consulting, system design, commissioning, estimating, project management, and/or installation for complex and large-scale electronic physical security projects.

• Proficient in access control, CCTV, and physical security systems, particularly in large-scale enterprise, multi-site, and complex projects.

• Strong comprehension of regulatory requirements for specialized environments.

• Skilled in advanced estimating tools, Microsoft Office, and project collaboration software.

• Outstanding problem-solving, analytical, and organizational abilities.

• Capability to manage multiple high-priority projects and deliver results under tight deadlines.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.

• College degree, trade school education, or equivalent experience.
