Solutions Architect – Estimating Supervisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with customers and sales team members to develop solutions, designs, scopes of work, and specifications for large-scale and highly intricate projects.

• Engage in site surveys to assess site conditions and challenges, designing complex multi-technology electronic and physical security solutions.

• Attend pre-bid meetings and technical discussions to evaluate project requirements and specific needs.

• Lead thorough and comprehensive cost estimates for large, multi-site or international, complex security projects, including data centers, global enterprise installations, and regulated environments.

• Spearhead security design development for projects where Convergint acts as the security design consultant.

• Review project specifications, blueprints, and RFPs to formulate precise and competitive proposals.

• Collaborate with sales, engineering, procurement, and operations teams to ensure estimates align with project scope, technical requirements, and timelines.

• Partner with vendors to identify innovative and optimal technology for solutions and designs.

• Source and manage pricing from specialized vendors, subcontractors, and partners.

• Identify project risks, special handling requirements, and potential solutions in line with regulatory and customer expectations.

• Provide mentorship to junior estimators through technical guidance and strategic support.

• Participate in client meetings and presentations to elucidate project scope and value proposition.

• Collaborate with installation teams to confirm the feasibility and accuracy of estimates.

• Utilize industry knowledge of regulations and compliance requirements.

• Monitor project costs, potential risks, and margins to enhance pricing strategies.

• Ensure estimates are consistent with company pricing strategies and market competitiveness.

• Prepare and present precise proposals to both internal and external customers.

• Carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A college degree, trade school, or equivalent experience.

• 7-9 years of experience in design consulting, system design, system commissioning, estimating, project management, and/or installation for complex and large-scale electronic physical security projects.

• Proficiency in access control, CCTV, and physical security systems, especially for large-scale enterprise, multi-site, and intricate projects.

• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for specialized environments.

• Expertise in advanced estimating tools, Microsoft Office, and project collaboration software.

• Outstanding problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects and meet tight deadlines.

• Excellent communication and leadership abilities for cross-functional collaboration.
