Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create, construct, test, and implement tailored software solutions utilizing Smartsheet and third-party APIs.

• Conceptualize and develop AI-enhanced workflows and automations leveraging LLMs, AI agents, and the inherent AI features of Smartsheet.

• Utilize AI coding assistants like Claude Code to expedite development, prototyping, and deployment.

• Assess new and emerging AI tools and methodologies.

• Lead technical consulting initiatives, design discussions, technical requirements gathering, and architecture validation processes.

• Design and document technical solutions that align with the business objectives of clients.

• Collaborate directly with customer teams to transform business challenges into effective solutions.

• Rapidly prototype and refine based on customer insights.

• Oversee solutions from the discovery phase to deployment, adoption, and ongoing refinement in production.

• Develop reusable components, frameworks, and accelerators.

• Act as the Smartsheet subject matter expert regarding product capabilities and AI-powered API extensibility.

• Manage technical project timelines, deliverables, deadlines, and client relationships.

• Facilitate the technical delivery of custom development, integrations, and data migrations.

• Maintain target billable utilization rates.

• Provide input to Product and Platform Engineering teams.

• Report to the Director of Solution Architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience or a suitable combination of work experience and education.

• Proficient in two or more of the following: .Net, NodeJS, Python, Java, and Ruby.

• Full-stack development capabilities with the ability to independently design, construct, and deliver production-quality applications.

• Familiarity with AI/LLM technologies and experience with their integration into applications via APIs.

• Working knowledge of prompt engineering and design patterns for AI agents.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code.

• Willingness to travel occasionally, up to 15% of the time.

• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.

• Capability to communicate technical topics to non-technical users in large organizations.

• Proven track record of driving projects from inception to completion with minimal oversight.

• Experience in customer-facing roles.

• Ability to work independently in ambiguous and rapidly changing settings.

• Experience with rapid prototyping and iteration based on direct feedback from customers.

• Familiarity with SaaS/IPaaS applications in an enterprise context.

• Understanding of systems architecture along with scalable, performance-oriented solutions.

• Knowledge of key design patterns and best practices for handling large data volumes.

• Expertise in data integration and linking SaaS applications with business systems, including ETL, CRM, analytics, and reporting.

• A Bachelor’s degree in MIS, CIS, or CS is preferred but not mandatory.
