Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Lead technical discovery sessions with clients to comprehend their business objectives, existing systems, and constraints, transforming them into precise solution architectures.

• Develop scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures (AWS/GCP/Azure) for web, mobile, TV, and backend platforms.

• Take ownership of architectural decisions across microservices, APIs, data pipelines, event-driven systems, and integrations with third-party platforms.

• Create effort estimates, technical proposals, and delivery roadmaps, while supporting pre-sales discussions with credible and well-reasoned solutions.

• Guide engineering teams throughout implementation, reviewing designs and code to ensure alignment with architecture and quality standards.

• Foster non-functional excellence in areas such as performance, high availability, observability, security, and compliance at a large scale.

• Assess and prototype emerging technologies, particularly GenAI/LLM and agentic systems, offering recommendations on how they can deliver genuine business value.

• Establish architecture standards, reusable reference architectures, and best practices across Proximity’s initiatives.

• Mentor engineers and technical leads, contributing to knowledge-sharing through Proximity Talks, blogs, and thought leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• 12-15 years of software engineering experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a solutions architect, technical architect, or technical lead role.

• Strong hands-on experience with at least one backend technology stack (Java/Kotlin, Go, Node.js, or Python) and a solid understanding of frontend and mobile architectures.

• In-depth expertise in cloud platforms (preferably AWS), containers, orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or similar tools).

• Proven track record of designing distributed, high-traffic systems: microservices, caching, CDNs, queues/streams (Kafka, SQS/PubSub), and SQL/NoSQL databases.

• Strong comprehension of system design trade-offs, including scalability, latency, availability, security, and cost considerations.

• Experience in translating business requirements into technical solutions, drafting architecture documents, and generating estimates and proposals.

• Exceptional communication skills, capable of presenting to both C-level stakeholders and engineering teams.

• Ability to deconstruct complex problems into straightforward, practical solutions that align with business needs.

• Comfort in navigating ambiguity while collaborating across multiple clients, time zones, and priorities.
