This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Convert enterprise architecture principles, standards, and guidelines into reusable solution architectures and implementation frameworks.
• Design and sustain solution designs, architecture decision records, reference architectures, and interoperability recommendations.
• Work alongside customer-facing teams to assess business and technical use cases prior to implementation.
• Recognize integration limitations, dependencies, and risks across applications, platforms, and data ecosystems.
• Ensure that solutions adhere to approved data, identity, networking, security, hosting, and compliance standards.
• Prepare and deliver Architecture Review Board packages along with technical suggestions.
• Assist in modernization roadmaps, migration readiness evaluations, and technology adoption strategies.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering, Security, Compliance, and Data teams for technical coherence and successful project delivery.
• Facilitate technical decision-making and address architectural conflicts before they evolve into delivery impediments.
• Offer expertise on cloud architecture, API strategies, integration patterns, and enterprise solution design.
• Participate in the ongoing enhancement of architecture standards, governance processes, and best practices.
• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory due to federal contract stipulations.
• The candidate must reside in the U.S., be authorized to work in the U.S., and conduct all work within the U.S.
• The candidate must have resided in the U.S. for three full years out of the past five years.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Enterprise Architecture, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent additional experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least 8 years of experience in designing and implementing enterprise-scale solution architectures.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, TOGAF, or similar architecture credentials.
• Experience in architecting cloud-native data, analytics, and AI platforms within Microsoft Azure and hybrid/multi-cloud settings.
• Experience with Lakehouse architectures utilizing Databricks, Delta Lake, SQL, Python, and cloud-native data services.
• Familiarity with Unity Catalog, data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data sharing methodologies.
• Experience in supporting enterprise data warehouse modernization, cloud migration, and large-scale data platform transformation projects.
• Proficiency in designing secure data ingestion, integration, and interoperability solutions using APIs, batch processing, event-driven architectures, real-time streaming, and data virtualization.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks Workspaces, Azure Synapse, Power BI, enterprise reporting platforms, and large-scale analytics ecosystems.
• Experience in supporting AI/ML platforms and MLOps capabilities utilizing Azure Machine Learning, Databricks ML, MLflow, NLP frameworks, and related machine learning technologies.
• Experience in developing enterprise architecture artifacts including solution blueprints, reference architectures, architecture review packages, ADRs, and ARB governance documentation.
• Proficiency in DevSecOps and Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform, GitHub, Azure DevOps, CI/CD automation, and deployment pipeline design.
• Experience in implementing enterprise data governance, cataloging, lineage, and access control solutions using Immuta, Collibra, Unity Catalog, Purview, or similar platforms.
• Understanding of domain-driven data architecture concepts, data domains, data products, medallion architecture, shared platform services, and self-service analytics platforms.
• Experience in supporting secure architectures aligned with Zero Trust, SSO, NIST 800-53, FIPS-compliant security requirements, and Federal cloud security standards.
• Experience with multi-cloud architectures encompassing Azure Commercial, Azure Government, AWS GovCloud, and hybrid on-premises environments.
• Ability to assess architectural trade-offs concerning scalability, interoperability, governance, security, performance, FinOps, and operational support.
• Excellent communication skills for articulating architecture recommendations and technical strategies to executives, governance boards, engineering teams, and customer stakeholders.
• Experience in supporting Federal government programs, enterprise shared-services environments, and large-scale modernization initiatives.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, problem-solving, written and verbal communication, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to influence technical decisions among diverse stakeholder groups and balance business objectives, technical constraints, costs, and security requirements.
