Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define and take ownership of the complete application architecture in line with business objectives and enterprise standards.

• Lead architectural assessments, develop reference architectures, and set up best practices for development.

• Assess new technologies and propose strategies for their adoption.

• Create integration patterns that link client applications with cloud-based back-end systems.

• Construct and enhance microservices, RESTful APIs, and event-driven components.

• Architect micro-frontend applications utilizing modular UI composition, Module Federation, or comparable techniques.

• Implement authentication and authorization frameworks such as OAuth2.0 and JWT.

• Design complex workflow systems using cloud services and distributed architectures.

• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code while leading code review processes.

• Integrate applications with cloud storage solutions.

• Collaborate with DevSecOps teams on CI/CD pipelines and automated testing protocols.

• Guide cross-functional teams comprising developers, UI/UX designers, product managers, and QA engineers.

• Offer mentorship, technical direction, and architectural oversight.

• Communicate architectural decisions and trade-offs to stakeholders effectively.

• Ensure adherence to security, governance, and enterprise standards.

• Develop, maintain, and support systems that provide secure public access to court electronic records for the Judiciary’s PACER program.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of seven years (7+) of experience in enterprise-grade software development using Java/J2EE technology within a web-based setting.

• Proficient-level experience as a Java developer.

• Familiarity with Linux (Red Hat).

• Some background with Java Server Faces (JSF)/RichFaces.

• Experience with RESTful web services.

• Knowledge of the Spring Framework.

• Experience in automating CI/CD pipelines.

• Proficient in SQL and data modeling, including ORM tools/frameworks such as Hibernate and familiarity with JPA.

• Experience in architecting and managing cloud solutions.

• Capable of adjusting to various enterprise security requirements.

• Experience with on-premise-to-cloud migrations or IT transformations.

• Familiarity with cloud computing and hybrid cloud platforms.

• Experience with DevOps and DevSecOps methodologies.

• Extensive background in developing applications within an agile environment.

• Familiarity with Git or another distributed source control system.

• Working knowledge of Federal IT security guidelines, practices, and Section 508/accessibility.

• Ability to contribute independently and collaborate as a team member in an agile team.

• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.

• Consultant mindset with the ability to engage with high-level customer stakeholders.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience in process design and documentation methodologies, producing quality deliverables, process and use-case modeling, and business case development.

• Effective in working independently as well as part of a team.

• Strong project management, leadership, and meeting facilitation capabilities, with knowledge of the project life cycle.

• Experience with Java, JSF, PrimeFaces, JavaScript, CSS, Perl, and/or Linux shell.

• Familiarity with DevOps tools like Jira, Confluence, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Bash, Subversion (SVN), and JetBrains Tool Suite.

• Nice to have: experience in Perl.
