This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee technical discovery and current-state evaluations to comprehend client business goals, operational needs, existing environments, technical liabilities, dependencies, constraints, risks, and future aspirations.
• Convert business and technical needs into secure, scalable, maintainable, and cost-efficient solution architectures utilizing Microsoft cloud services, infrastructure, networking, identity, cybersecurity, business continuity, and associated managed services.
• Integrate security, privacy, compliance, resilience, data protection, monitoring, scalability, licensing, maintainability, and technology lifecycle demands into solution designs.
• Create precise and detailed Statements of Work, solution diagrams, bills of materials, implementation strategies, effort estimations, assumptions, dependencies, exclusions, deliverables, timelines, and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with Account Management and vCIO teams during pre-sales efforts, client presentations, solution evaluations, roadmap discussions, and proposal formulation to articulate recommendations, value, trade-offs, and technical aspects effectively.
• Develop and uphold architecture principles, approved technology standards, reference architectures, design patterns, documentation templates, and exception processes that align with CompassMSP’s service catalog and strategic vision.
• Conduct or partake in peer and architecture reviews for intricate or high-risk solutions to ensure design quality, standards compliance, delivery readiness, and adequate risk mitigation before seeking client approval.
• Facilitate structured transitions to project management and engineering teams, document key architectural decisions and risks, and act as a resource for design inquiries, scope discrepancies, and technical obstacles during implementation.
• Engage with vendors and distributors to assess technologies, validate technical compatibility, confirm pricing and availability, evaluate product roadmaps and lifecycle status, and coordinate complex solution requirements.
• Analyze completed projects, delivery feedback, technological changes, and project results to enhance estimating accuracy, architectural quality, service offerings, reusable standards, and internal processes.
• Offer technical guidance and knowledge transfer to sales, account management, vCIO, engineering, project management, and service delivery teams while managing multiple opportunities and priorities with accountability, urgency, and consistent follow-through.
• Ensure solution designs and Statements of Work are comprehensive, technically precise, aligned with client goals, security requirements, standards, budget expectations, and turnaround objectives.
• Define project scopes with the necessary detail concerning labor hours, costs, risks, and margin assumptions to facilitate timely, budget-compliant, and profitable delivery.
• Enhance standards, templates, reference architectures, estimating practices, service offerings, and internal processes based on delivery outcomes and stakeholder feedback.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive IT experience, including at least two years in a Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Senior Systems Engineer, or a similar client-facing architecture role.
• Proven experience within a Managed Service Provider environment, with a strong grasp of recurring services, project delivery, supportability, and client lifecycle considerations.
• Extensive technical knowledge across Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, virtualization, identity, networking, security, backup, disaster recovery, and endpoint technologies.
• Established ability to conduct discovery, assess complex environments, and design solutions that align technical requirements with business outcomes, risk, cost, and operational readiness.
• Experience in producing detailed Statements of Work, solution diagrams, bills of materials, project estimates, and executive-ready proposals.
• Strong commercial insight, including familiarity with solution costing, licensing, procurement, margin considerations, and the elements that contribute to successful project execution.
• Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the capability to convey complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver accurate work under tight deadlines.
• Capacity to collaborate effectively across sales, account management, vCIO, engineering, project management, procurement, finance, vendors, and client stakeholders.
