Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Oversee the practical implementation of intricate, high-risk, and multi-domain customer projects.

• Implement Azure Virtual Desktop, complex networking architectures, multi-tenant security setups, hybrid identity frameworks, and large-scale migration initiatives.

• Create High-Level Designs and Low-Level Designs across Modern Workplace, Cyber Security, Network, and Backup/DR areas.

• Draft Statements of Work that outline scope, deliverables, assumptions, exclusions, acceptance criteria, and milestones.

• Offer technical guidance and design assurance throughout the delivery process.

• Assess implementation progress and validate engineering configuration choices.

• Assist in pre-sales scoping, solution qualification, feasibility assessments, and proposal design.

• Facilitate customer technical design reviews and secure architecture approvals.

• Establish technical standards, deployment checklists, configuration baselines, and design templates.

• Validate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) results and technical acceptance.

• Mentor Level 1 and Level 2 engineers.

• Collaborate with Service Desk, NOC, and managed services teams for operational supportability.

• Maintain vendor relationships and assess new product capabilities.

• Communicate risks, constraints, and dependencies to project managers, delivery leadership, and customers.

• Conduct post-implementation design reviews and document lessons learned.

• Keep advanced technical skills and maintain expert vendor certifications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience in designing and delivering solutions within Modern Workplace, Cyber Security, Backup/DR, Networking, and Azure.

• Proven experience in authoring High-Level Designs, Low-Level Designs, and Statements of Work.

• Pre-sales technical experience is essential.

• Demonstrated ability in mentoring and enhancing the technical skills of a delivery team.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305), or a current equivalent certification.

• Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100), or a current equivalent certification.

• Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert (MS-102), or a current equivalent certification.

• Sophos Certified Architect for Sophos Firewall and Sophos Central Endpoint/Server, with prerequisite Sophos Certified Engineer certifications.

• Acronis Certified Engineer (Cyber Protect).

• Mimecast Certified Product Professional, Advanced level.

• A home-based work setup with a desk and chair in a quiet environment.

• Preferred: PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent, ITIL Foundation, CISSP or equivalent, CompTIA Security+, CrowdStrike Falcon certifications, and familiarity with Falcon Complete.
