Solution Architect – Shared Data Migration, Tenant-to-Tenant ODSP & Teams files

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Establish and oversee the comprehensive strategy for migrating SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Teams-connected file content during the global tenant-to-tenant M365 consolidation.

• Define the target-state information architecture and governance considerations.

• Develop the tenant-to-tenant ODSP migration strategy, which includes discovery, mapping, staging, delta moves, cutover, and post-move validation.

• Standardize the configuration of migration tooling, scheduling, throttling management, reporting, and error handling.

• Create runbooks for site, OneDrive, and Teams file migrations, permissions reconciliation, sharing remediation, and metadata validation.

• Establish and uphold migration quality gates and evidence-pack methodologies.

• Develop exception frameworks for challenging or complex content.

• Define repeatable processes for permissions and sharing parity.

• Lead escalations related to permissions, throttling, content mismatches, identities, sharing links, and Teams dependencies.

• Generate operational metrics that cover throughput, failures, rework, blockers, and continuous improvement.

• Align Shared Data cutovers with readiness in Identity, Devices, and Teams.

• Mentor factory SMEs and facilitate scaled, repeatable delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated successful delivery of tenant-to-tenant SharePoint/OneDrive migrations at an enterprise scale, as evidenced by past projects.

• Extensive expertise in SharePoint Online/OneDrive, covering permissions, sharing, information architecture, metadata, site templates, modern site constructs, and governance controls.

• Practical experience with ShareGate or similar enterprise migration tools.

• Capability to interpret migration logs and understand failure modes.

• Strong comprehension of Teams-connected content storage patterns and the interplay between Teams and SharePoint/OneDrive usage.

• Experience in creating factory-ready runbooks, validation gates, and evidence packs.

• Excellent troubleshooting skills.

• Background in highly regulated or complex governance environments.

• Familiarity with scripting and automation through PowerShell/Graph.

• Awareness of common pitfalls in ODSP migration.

• Ability to promote standards adoption across various teams and regions.

• Effective communication regarding data risks and the impact on end-users.

• Ability to build trust with business content owners.

• Capacity to coach factory SMEs.

• Willingness to work within a three-shift 24x7 factory model, including mandatory shift handovers.
