Solution Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead solution design initiatives in collaboration with Principal Engineers, Engineering teams, Product Development, and third-party partners.

• Convert business, customer, and technical requirements into actionable solution designs.

• Conduct technical design workshops with customers, internal teams, system integrators, and external vendors.

• Define and document system interfaces, integration patterns, data flows, and technical dependencies.

• Create architecture diagrams, interface specifications, and technical documentation.

• Facilitate technical reviews and secure stakeholder agreement and sign-off.

• Ensure solutions are in alignment with product capabilities, engineering standards, customer requirements, and overall architecture.

• Support integration across both internal and external systems and teams during implementation, testing, certification, deployment, and production transition.

• Identify and address technical dependencies, integration risks, and design challenges.

• Provide architectural guidance in instances where implementation challenges necessitate design clarification or refinement.

• Serve as a primary technical point of contact for customers and external partners throughout the delivery process.

• Convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.

• Manage stakeholder expectations regarding capabilities, interfaces, dependencies, constraints, and delivery outcomes.

• Assist existing customers with solution modifications, enhancements, integrations, upgrades, and technical impact assessments.

• Collaborate with Program and Project Management to provide updates on technical progress, dependencies, risks, and issues.

• Aid in project planning by identifying architectural activities, integration milestones, and delivery risks.

• Develop technical solutions for new opportunities and assist in discovery, proposals, presentations, demonstrations, and pursuit discussions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in a Solution Architect, Systems Architect, Technical Architect, Integration Architect, or a similar customer-facing technical role.

• Background in designing and delivering complex, integrated technology solutions.

• Thorough understanding of systems integration, APIs, interfaces, data flows, and distributed systems.

• Experience in translating requirements into technical designs, architecture diagrams, and interface specifications.

• Proven experience leading technical workshops and design discussions with multiple stakeholders.

• Strong skills in technical documentation and diagramming.

• Experience collaborating directly with customers, vendors, system integrators, and engineering teams.

• Capability to communicate technical concepts effectively to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making abilities.

• Ability to manage competing priorities and technical dependencies in complex delivery settings.

• Familiarity with an architecture or system modeling framework and associated modeling tools.

• Ability to work efficiently across geographically distributed and multidisciplinary teams.

• Demonstrated willingness to embrace emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, to enhance productivity, analysis, documentation, and solution development.

• Preferred: experience in public transit technology and Automated Fare Collection (AFC) systems; payments including contactless and account-based payment solutions; mobility platforms and intelligent transportation systems; SaaS and cloud-based platforms; enterprise or large-scale systems integration; API-based integration and distributed system architectures; experience in customer-facing technology delivery within complex, multi-vendor environments; familiarity with UML, SysML, ArchiMate, or TOGAF.
