Solution Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create detailed technical architecture, designs, and blueprints for Federal IT solutions within technical proposals.

• Take ownership of the technical solution throughout the capture lifecycle, from pre-RFP engagement to oral evaluations.

• Spearhead technical discovery during industry days, one-on-one sessions, site visits, and reviews of draft solicitations.

• Collaborate with Capture Managers, Business Development Managers, Proposal Managers, and Writers.

• Write RFI responses, sources sought responses, capability statements, white papers, and proposal content.

• Identify technical capability gaps and assist in make-or-team decisions and the vetting of teaming partners.

• Develop graphics that illustrate solution concepts, processes, dependencies, technologies, benefits, and features.

• Architect, design, and present innovative, cost-effective solutions to company leadership, Federal customers, and Federal CIOs.

• Manage technical volumes and lead brainstorming sessions, SME interviews, solution research, graphic concepts, and content creation.

• Write the technical approach, management approach driven by technical insights, transition and phase-in strategies, and quality control documentation.

• Define the solution's scope, goals, alternative solutions, challenges, risks, and level-of-effort/basis-of-effort estimates.

• Build technical bases of estimate, encompassing work decomposition, labor-category mapping, skill mix, staffing ramp, and defensible assumptions.

• Create rough-order-of-magnitude models for RFI and market research responses.

• Act as a technical presenter or serve as technical support for oral presentations, challenges, and scenario-based evaluations.

• Respond accurately to government technical inquiries under time constraints.

• Develop and sustain a technical reuse library that includes solution patterns, boilerplate, technical summaries, and graphics.

• Define implementation capabilities, limitations, performance requirements, and interfaces for end-user solutions.

• Assist in the startup and delivery of successful proposals through job interviews, work assignments, and executive briefings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 10 years of experience in developing IT and cloud infrastructure solutions or in software development.

• Proven expertise in Azure and Microsoft 365 implementation, operations, and sustainment.

• Proficient with Microsoft Power Platform.

• Demonstrated experience in leading or architecting federal production systems that have obtained and maintained authority to operate.

• Proven expertise in generative and agentic AI, including its technical implementation and governance.

• In-depth understanding of federal proposal mechanics.

• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

• Ready to provide specific examples of past successes in proposal efforts.

• May be required to submit a writing sample during the screening process.

• Successful execution of all phases of the proposal development process.

• Ability to take initiative and drive solution development efforts from capture to submission.

• Must be able to pass a Government Background Investigation (BI).

• Industry-recognized cloud certification is preferred.

• Industry-recognized cybersecurity certification is preferred.

• Experience in IL5 and IL6 cloud environments is preferred.

• Demonstrated experience in architecting or delivering within a federal DevSecOps environment is preferred.

• Prior technical delivery experience on a DoD readiness reporting or military personnel program is preferred.
