Solution Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete solution design for a designated financial process area, covering everything from requirements gathering to configuration, integration, testing, and deployment to production.

• Lead the process-area delivery team, managing task allocation and ensuring delivery quality.

• Provide leadership for architecture, design, and technical teams, offering performance feedback for matrixed analysts.

• Facilitate fit-to-standard workshops and design meetings with government process stakeholders.

• Develop and maintain functional design documentation, architecture artifacts, configuration rationale, and traceability matrices.

• Identify and resolve discrepancies between standard functionalities and requirements; escalate extension requests along with recommendations.

• Design and oversee integrations with related process areas, external interfaces, extensibility layers, and reporting systems.

• Define target-state data models, conversion objects, validation criteria, and reconciliation standards, in collaboration with data migration leadership.

• Review and approve configuration and development outputs to ensure adherence to design standards and clean-core principles.

• Prepare and deliver content for preliminary, critical, and production readiness design evaluations.

• Assist in unit, string, integration, and user acceptance testing; manage defect triage and root-cause analysis.

• Support cutover, go-live, hypercare, and transition phases to sustainment.

• Mentor and develop members of the delivery team.

• Travel up to 50% to client locations.

• Oversee performance management, development, workforce planning, compliance, risk management, stakeholder alignment, and team effectiveness.

• Execute other related duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience; 8–12 years of relevant experience, including 3–5 years of leadership experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 10–14 years of relevant experience and 5–8 years of leadership experience without a degree.

• Over 8 years of SAP functional or technical experience, with design responsibilities on enterprise implementations.

• At least one full lifecycle SAP implementation experience in a solution design, lead functional, or architect role.

• Required experience with SAP S/4HANA.

• Extensive configuration and design expertise in one or more SAP finance or supply chain domains.

• Proven understanding of cross-module integration.

• Experience in leading design workshops and facilitating requirements sessions with both business and technical stakeholders.

• Experience in leading a delivery team, including allocating work, conducting quality reviews, and managing performance.

• Capability to create clear functional design documentation and defend design decisions during formal reviews.

• Must possess an active Secret security clearance or be able to obtain and maintain one before assignment; U.S. citizenship is required.

• Advanced certifications are preferred.

• Nice-to-have: Experience in federal ERP modernization or defense business systems.

• Nice-to-have: Industry-recognized SAP certification.

• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with the SAP Activate methodology and experience with fit-to-standard and clean-core principles.

• Nice-to-have: Experience with SAP Public Sector Management, federal ledger extensions, or pre-delivered federal finance content.

• Nice-to-have: Knowledge of FIAR, DoD 7000.14-R, and FFMIA.

• Nice-to-have: Agile delivery certification such as Certified ScrumMaster or SAFe.

• Nice-to-have: Experience transitioning solutions into sustainment or operations and maintenance.
