This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Provide guidance to individuals and organizations undergoing criminal investigations related to corporate manslaughter, gross negligence manslaughter, and violations of health and safety, fire safety, food safety, and environmental legislation.
• Offer advice on product safety and represent clients involved in inquests and Public Inquiries.
• Manage a diverse and active caseload that includes contentious and non-contentious regulatory matters.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, adhering to established client protocols.
• Support business development efforts through pitches, presentations, and training sessions.
• Oversee file management in accordance with firm and client protocols, which includes billing, credit control, work in progress, file closures, and management information.
• Take charge of quality control and ensure compliance benchmarks are met for your own caseload.
• Keep up-to-date with knowledge across other practice areas and maintain an active internal network.
• Enhance technical expertise through training, publications, and Law Society Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
• Minimum of 5 years Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) in a regulatory and/or commercially oriented setting, whether in private practice or another environment.
• Proven experience in advising on regulatory matters, including Health and Safety Executive (HSE)/Police investigations, witness interviews, interviews under caution, prosecutions, sentencing hearings, and inquests.
• Familiarity with vehicle operator licence issues, environmental violations, trading standards, product safety, food safety, and fire safety is advantageous.
• Background in business development and fostering client relationships.
• Readiness to travel on short notice to support clients in person.
• A valid driving licence is required.
• Strong legal drafting, analytical, and technical capabilities.
