This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Overseeing a personal caseload of multi-track recovery claims, from the initial investigation to settlement, mediation, or trial.
• Evaluating liability concerning a diverse array of property damage incidents, such as significant water escapes, fire, flooding, oil spills, impact damage, construction-related losses, and other intricate recovery issues.
• Performing comprehensive investigations into liability, causation, and quantum, which includes the analysis of technical and expert evidence.
• Gathering witness statements, securing essential documentary evidence, and coordinating with insured parties, brokers, loss adjusters, experts, and third parties.
• Composing pre-action correspondence, Letters of Claim, pleadings, and various court documents.
• Advancing claims through the litigation process, including disclosure, witness evidence, expert instruction, settlement discussions, and trial preparation.
• Negotiating settlements and optimizing recoveries on behalf of insurer clients.
• Collaborating effectively with colleagues, Counsel, forensic experts, and industry-leading clients on technically demanding matters.
• Contributing to client relationship management, business development, and marketing efforts to facilitate the ongoing growth of the practice.
• Ensuring compliance with all client service standards, regulatory obligations, and the firm's information security and data protection protocols.
• Exhibiting robust financial and commercial management of your files, covering billing, WIP management, recoverability, and credit control.
• Meeting key performance indicators, including an annual chargeable hours target of 1,440 hours.
• Must be a Solicitor or CILEX Lawyer, or possess significant pre-qualification experience.
• Must have an interest in and willingness to learn about insurance property damage law, including fundamental principles of contract law and tort.
• Strong communication skills for effective liaison with clients, intermediaries, and colleagues.
• Ability to critically assess factual evidence, identify key legal arguments, and apply them effectively.
