Solar Field Service Technician I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Diagnose and rectify issues in utility-scale solar systems, including inverters, combiner boxes, and string circuits.

• Execute LOTO, IV curve tracing, megger/insulation testing, and infrared scans.

• Conduct operations and maintenance on utility-scale solar facilities.

• Assess completed work to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.

• Uphold OSHA and NFPA 70E safety protocols on-site.

• Identify and troubleshoot system problems in the field.

• Finalize work orders, service logs, and necessary documentation.

• Manage and maintain the company vehicle and tools.

• Travel frequently to various solar farm locations.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1-2+ years of experience in utility-scale solar (solar farms / ground-mounted systems).

• Background in working on megawatt-scale PV systems (not residential rooftop solar).

• Proficient in electrical troubleshooting and repair, including inverters, DC systems, and power electronics.

• Experience in solar operations and maintenance tasks.

• Familiarity with OSHA and NFPA 70E safety regulations.

• Skilled in using multimeters, meggers, amp clamps, and other testing tools.

• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office).

• Capability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

• Must be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Adherence to all OSHA and company safety protocols is required.

• Willingness and capacity to travel 100% of the time.
