Software Test Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain automated testing scripts for web-based user interfaces and backend services.

• Leverage existing solutions and technologies to expedite testing cycles.

• Collaborate with developers and QA team members to integrate testing into Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

• Execute load, stress, and performance testing, including the generation of analysis and metrics.

• Engage in sprint activities through both manual and automated testing efforts.

• Enhance test coverage, reliability, and the overall quality of the product.

• Conduct peer code reviews and adhere to automation coding standards.

• Investigate and resolve test failures in collaboration with development teams.

• Create maintainable and reusable test code that aligns with QA guidelines.

• Coordinate with QA and development teams regarding milestones, deadlines, and demonstrations.

• Optimize and scale the automation suite and testing infrastructure.

• Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 3 years of practical testing experience.

• Expertise in developing UI automation with tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar alternatives.

• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java.

• Strong understanding of functional, regression, and exploratory testing methodologies.

• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and API testing using tools like Postman or REST Assured.

• Experience working in Linux/Unix environments, with basic troubleshooting capabilities.

• Comfortable with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and version control using Git.

• Ability to work autonomously while also contributing effectively in a team setting.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
