Software & Platform Engineering Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +3 more locations.

📋 Description

• Analyze software engineering documents, plans, and technical materials for accuracy and thoroughness.

• Assess proposed software, platform, infrastructure, and systems approaches for technical validity, feasibility, and practicality.

• Evaluate technical assumptions, dependencies, implementation considerations, operational requirements, and constraints.

• Identify discrepancies, missing information, unsupported conclusions, technical risks, unclear assumptions, and incomplete reasoning.

• Review engineering plans, analyses, requirements, priorities, dependencies, recommendations, and accompanying documentation.

• Check Excel spreadsheets for accuracy, calculations, tables, supporting data, completeness, and consistency.

• Examine Word documents and PowerPoint presentations for accuracy, organization, technical narratives, analyses, structure, and professional quality.

• Evaluate assigned engineering work products against established quality standards and project guidelines.

• Differentiate significant concerns from minor editorial issues.

• Deliver clear, concise, structured, and actionable written feedback.

• Consistently apply evaluation criteria across various assignments.

• Operate independently across different technical and engineering work products.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or higher is required.

• A minimum of 2+ years of relevant professional experience in software engineering, platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, or a closely related technical field.

• Experience in roles such as Software Engineer, Platform Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, Systems Engineer, or similar positions.

• Strong comprehension of software systems, technical infrastructure, or platform development.

• Excellent analytical and document-review capabilities.

• Exceptional written communication skills.

• High attention to detail and the ability to adhere to structured guidelines.

• Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

• Comfortable reviewing a variety of technical and engineering work products.

• Capable of working independently and providing precise professional feedback.

• Applicants must reside in the United States, Europe, United Kingdom, or Canada.

• Work must be conducted without utilizing confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, institution, or other third party.
