This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +3 more states.
• Act as a subject matter expert for a team of software engineers.
• Develop code for intricate systems and applications.
• Provide guidance on project timelines, plans, and methodologies.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for software development challenges.
• Draft and review comprehensive specifications for system components.
• Address complex bug fixes.
• Convert product requirements into software designs.
• Establish development processes, coding best practices, and conduct code reviews.
• Collaborate with stakeholders in Agile, Waterfall, and various development settings.
• Troubleshoot complex technical problems.
• Mentor and coach entry-level software engineers.
• Stay updated on emerging technology developments.
• Design and manage intricate data models.
• Conduct interviews, hire, train, assign tasks, direct, and evaluate employees.
• Administer rewards and disciplinary actions for employees and handle complaints.
• Provide staff with training, resources, feedback, and coaching.
• Foster innovation and promote staff accountability.
• Over 7 years of experience in Software Engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience is mandatory.
• In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
• Substantial experience with Managed Services and/or Staff Augmentation resource models.
• Strong understanding of industry best practices in external resource development.
• Capability to partner with and lead both internal and external technology resources.
• Proficiency in test-driven development and robust research skills.
• Advanced skills in data manipulation language, including optimization techniques.
• Comprehensive understanding of normalized and dimensional data modeling principles.
• Ability to design and manage complex data models.
• Solid knowledge of various data storage subsystems.
• Expertise in Java, Python, XML, Linux/UNIX, SQL, and scripting languages.
• Familiarity with development best practices.
• Knowledge of relevant tool sets.
• Proficient in writing and reviewing detailed technical specifications.
• Strong skills in business objective-setting, direct management, organization, project planning, time management, change management, and delegation.
• Proven problem-solving skills, guiding teams through complex technical issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, customer service, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
• Experience with AI/ML/DL-based systems and Generative AI.
• Willingness to learn proprietary abstractions related to AI tools.
• Extensive experience with cloud toolchains, ideally AWS and Azure.
• Strong enterprise Java experience, preferably with polyglot development including Python.
• Experience in API-first development.
• Familiarity with agentic patterns is advantageous.
• Ability to assemble high-performing Agile teams.
• Strong hands-on engineering capabilities.
