Software Engineer – Senior

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain Python services, including REST APIs utilizing FastAPI, batch jobs, and shared libraries.

• Implement functionalities within claims, eligibility, and drug pricing workflows.

• Create well-structured, maintainable, and unit-tested code.

• Compose and optimize SQL queries, reports, and stored procedures for MySQL databases.

• Engage in the entire application lifecycle, which encompasses design, code review, deployment, and production support.

• Collaborate with various departments to align technical solutions with business objectives.

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to enhance delivery while ensuring accuracy, testing, and reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or advanced qualification in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 3 years of practical experience in Python development.

• Strong foundation in computer science principles: data structures, testing, and version control (git).

• Attention and discipline when handling sensitive data; experience with HIPAA/PHI is advantageous.

• Proficient in relational databases and SQL (MySQL preferred).

• Experience in developing RESTful APIs with Python (FastAPI preferred).

• Familiarity with the Atlassian toolset and Agile development practices.

• Comfortable operating in Linux environments; AWS experience is a benefit.

• Experience in the healthcare sector is beneficial but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with AI coding tools (such as Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar), with the ability to assess when to trust their output.

• An active problem solver with a "figure it out" mentality.

• Effective and proactive communicator.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Willingness to learn about a complex, regulated business domain.

• Open to feedback and collaborative code reviews.

• Currently authorized to work in the United States full-time without employer support, visa transfer assistance, DSO documentation, or sponsorship now or in the future.
