Software Engineer – Senior

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain Python services, including REST APIs utilizing FastAPI, batch processes, and shared libraries.

• Implement features related to claims, eligibility, and drug-pricing workflows.

• Create well-structured, maintainable, and thoroughly unit-tested code.

• Write and optimize SQL for MySQL databases, encompassing queries, reports, and stored procedures.

• Engage in the complete application lifecycle, including design, code review, deployment, and production support.

• Collaborate across departments to ensure technical solutions meet business objectives.

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to enhance delivery while maintaining oversight on correctness, testing, and review.

• Participate in periodic team onsites in Hayward as a member of a remote team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Over 3 years of practical Python development experience.

• Strong foundation in computer science principles: data structures, testing, and version control (git).

• Attention and care when handling sensitive data.

• Proficient in relational databases and SQL, with a preference for MySQL.

• Experience in constructing RESTful APIs using Python, preferably with FastAPI.

• Familiarity with the Atlassian toolset and Agile development practices.

• Comfortable operating in Linux environments.

• Experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar technologies.

• Ability to discern when to rely on AI coding tool outputs and when not to.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer support, visa transfer support, DSO documentation, or future sponsorship.
