Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications and services.

• Take ownership of the delivery of intricate features, services, or components independently.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to transform business and user requirements into technical solutions.

• Contribute to system and solution design, architectural decisions, technical trade-offs, and implementation strategies.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools for coding, debugging, documentation, testing, and analysis.

• Engage in code reviews to uphold coding standards, quality, and secure development practices.

• Identify and resolve software defects, performance challenges, and reliability issues.

• Contribute throughout the entire software development lifecycle from requirements and design to implementation, testing, release, and support.

• Create and uphold unit tests, integration tests, and other validation methodologies.

• Implement software design principles, patterns, algorithms, and data structures.

• Enhance development workflows, automation, observability, and engineering efficiency.

• Investigate AI, machine learning, and emerging technologies, proposing practical applications.

• Provide mentorship to junior engineers through technical guidance and feedback on code reviews.

• Commit to continuous improvement, responsible AI practices, collaboration, and technical excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent years of relevant experience.

• Willingness to travel occasionally, up to 5-10%, for important events like team summits, training, and conferences.

• Subject to company on-call policies, which may include working outside of regular hours as necessary.

• Additional experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.

• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as TypeScript, Java, C#, Python, or other relevant technology stacks.

• Experience in delivering production-grade software and independently managing significant features or technical components.

• Capability to tackle problems of varied scope, analyze technical challenges, and apply sound judgment to find effective solutions.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, debugging, documentation, or analysis.

• Ability to use AI tools responsibly, with attention to security, privacy, reliability, maintainability, and necessary human oversight.

• Experience with version control, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and Agile or Kanban methodologies.

• Solid understanding of software design principles, design patterns, algorithms, and data structures.

• Familiarity with SQL and database concepts; hands-on database experience is preferred.

• Knowledge of OWASP threats and mitigation techniques along with secure coding practices.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic setting with minimal day-to-day supervision.
