Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and sustain software applications and services.

• Take ownership of delivering intricate features, services, or components independently.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to convert business and user needs into technical solutions.

• Contribute to system and solution design, architecture, technical trade-offs, and implementation strategies.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools for coding, debugging, documentation, testing, and analysis.

• Engage in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, quality, and secure development practices.

• Diagnose software defects, performance issues, and reliability challenges.

• Contribute throughout all stages of the software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through implementation, testing, release, and support.

• Develop and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and other validation methodologies.

• Implement software design principles, patterns, algorithms, and data structures.

• Enhance development workflows, automation, observability, and engineering efficiency.

• Investigate AI and machine learning capabilities and suggest practical applications.

• Mentor junior engineers by providing technical guidance and feedback during code reviews.

• Promote continuous improvement, responsible AI utilization, collaboration, and technical excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience is required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent years of relevant work experience.

• Willingness to travel occasionally, up to 5-10%, for significant events such as team summits, training, conferences, etc.

• This position is subject to company on-call policies, which may include working hours outside of the normal workday as necessary.

• Additional experience may be substituted for an advanced degree.

• Proficient in one or more programming languages, such as TypeScript, Java, C#, Python, or other relevant technology stacks.

• Experience in delivering production-grade software and independently managing significant features or technical components.

• Capability to work on diverse problems, analyze technical issues, and exercise sound judgment to identify effective solutions.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, debugging, documentation, or analysis.

• Ability to apply AI tools responsibly, considering security, privacy, reliability, maintainability, and necessary human oversight.

• Experience with version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and Agile or Kanban methodologies.

• Strong understanding of software design principles, design patterns, algorithms, and data structures.

• Knowledge of SQL and database concepts; hands-on database experience is preferred.

• Awareness of OWASP threats, mitigation techniques, and secure coding practices.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment with minimal day-to-day supervision.
