Software Engineer – Penpot

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

• Collaborate on various Penpot product initiatives and features.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive engineering experience at a senior level.

• Interest or background in reactive programming; Penpot employs RxJS.

• Proficiency in frontend or backend-for-frontend development.

• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, browser APIs, HTML, and CSS.

• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks, primarily React.

• Passion for crafting robust and well-designed user interfaces.

• Experience in and knowledge of functional programming.

• Willingness to learn ClojureScript, as it is used in day-to-day operations.

• Regular utilization of LLM tools such as Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, or OpenCode.

• Comfort in working within Linux environments.

• Proficient in spoken and written English.

• Functional proficiency in spoken and written Spanish.

• Familiarity with Clojure or other functional programming languages is a plus.

• Understanding of JavaScript testing, including Jest and Cypress, and end-to-end testing with Playwright is advantageous.

• Interest in accessibility and ethical development practices.

• Enthusiasm for design systems and their application in product development.

• Previous experience or a genuine interest in open-source projects.

• Experience with agile methodologies in a professional setting.

• Proven ability to collaborate within diverse, cross-functional teams.

• Capability to ask insightful questions to facilitate product development.

• Diligent testing of personal code through unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
