This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Lead teams in the development of cloud platform products that facilitate and support agentic workloads.
β’ Take ownership of the entire process from roadmap and design to release and ongoing operations.
β’ Collaborate effectively with product management, UX, architecture, engineering, and non-engineering teams.
β’ Define Service Level Objectives (SLOs), observability, alerting, runbooks, and on-call readiness in partnership with Platform Reliability Engineering.
β’ Ensure adherence to quality, security, and change-control standards.
β’ Guide the design and development of services on Google Cloud and GKE utilizing infrastructure as code and CI/CD methodologies.
β’ Drive platform adoption through comprehensive documentation, self-service workflows, and tailored guardrails for different audiences.
β’ Establish security, governance, and cost control measures for non-engineering teams.
β’ Write code or scripts to automate infrastructure management, monitoring, and testing; engage in design and code reviews.
β’ Lead review board sessions to promote consistency across the enterprise.
β’ Address platform-related inquiries and serve as a technical escalation point.
β’ Participate in incident response efforts and conduct post-incident reviews.
β’ Monitor platform adoption and user feedback, using insights to implement product enhancements.
β’ Provide production application support as needed.
β’ Lead, mentor, coach, attract, retain, and develop a team of Software Engineers.
β’ Conduct annual and mid-year performance reviews.
β’ Manage team capacity, priorities, and workload across multiple products.
β’ Foster collaboration and create opportunities for engineers' career development.
β’ Advocate for modern software development practices, including AI-assisted development.
β’ Engage in communities of practice.
β’ Stay updated on new technologies and best practices related to cloud platforms, agentic AI, and platform engineering.
β’ Build relationships with technology leaders to gain insights into best practices.
β’ Must be at least eighteen years old.
β’ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
β’ Proficient in an object-oriented programming language, with a preference for Go.
β’ Experienced with Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes (GKE) in a production setting.
β’ Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
β’ Minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
β’ 5-7 years of relevant work experience, including leadership or management of engineers.
β’ Demonstrated leadership experience and a strong technology-oriented mindset.
β’ Expertise in Golang for developing cloud-native services, APIs, and tooling.
β’ Deep knowledge of Google Cloud services, including GKE, IAM, networking, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage.
β’ Proficient in infrastructure as code and GitOps practices such as Terraform, Helm, and Argo CD.
β’ Mastery of modern CI/CD and progressive delivery pipelines.
β’ Experience in building platforms or products that enable agentic and AI workloads.
β’ Skilled in designing platforms, APIs, and self-service workflows with exceptional documentation and user experience.
β’ Proficient in observability practices, including metrics, logging, tracing, SLOs, and alerting.
β’ Experienced in production support, incident management, and reliability engineering.
β’ Solid understanding of cloud security fundamentals, including identity management, secrets management, and network policy.
β’ Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving issues.
β’ Experience mentoring junior team members in Software Engineering fundamentals.
β’ Experienced in managing and developing team members.
β’ Capable of balancing workloads across teams and managing multiple products simultaneously.
β’ Adept at translating high-level strategies into actionable plans.
β’ AI-driven thinking, including the application of AI and agentic workflows to enhance engineering processes.
β’ Proficient in supporting a 24x7 retail operation.
β’ Must be able to operate effectively in a professional environment.
β’ Google Cloud Professional certifications are advantageous.
β’ Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
