Software Engineer, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain backend services and platform capabilities within the Sectigo Certificate Manager ecosystem.

• Construct and enhance RESTful APIs and distributed services utilizing Java and Spring technologies.

• Create and implement integrations with enterprise systems, certificate authorities, cloud services, and network infrastructure.

• Collaborate with Product Management, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams.

• Diagnose and resolve functional, performance, reliability, and scalability challenges in both development and production settings.

• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and promote engineering best practices.

• Produce maintainable, testable, and thoroughly documented code.

• Support technical documentation, testing efforts, and product assistance.

• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives concerning architecture, performance, security, and operational excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience is highly recommended.

• At least 3+ years of professional software development experience.

• Extensive experience with Java and Spring-based application development.

• Proficient in building and consuming REST APIs.

• Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.

• Experience with ORM technologies such as Hibernate/JPA.

• Knowledge of Linux-based environments.

• Proficient in using source control systems, issue tracking tools, and automated testing methodologies.

• Experience with AI coding assistants and agentic development tools.

• Strong problem-solving and debugging capabilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Experience with microservices and distributed systems.

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Knowledge of messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ.

• Understanding of authentication, authorization, and modern application security principles.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and contemporary software delivery practices.

• Knowledge of certificate management, PKI, TLS/SSL, or security-related technologies.

• Experience working on enterprise SaaS platforms.

• Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional environment.
