Software Engineer IV – FHIR

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Report directly to the Manager of Software Engineering

• Create network messaging software for Availity’s Auth FHIR teams

• Design and implement DaVinci Prior Auth networking solutions within the healthcare sector

• Primarily develop software using C# .NET and other languages as needed

• Develop web services for both internal and external applications

• Map message structures, predominantly using DaVinci FHIR

• Analyze and comprehend healthcare messaging standards specifications

• Write unit tests to ensure high coverage levels

• Collaborate effectively within and among teams

• Conduct pull request reviews and offer constructive feedback

• Configure and deploy software in the Azure environment

• Troubleshoot issues in production

• Maintain a high standard of code quality

• Engage in ongoing professional development and learning

• Mentor junior Software Engineers

• Innovate and propose ideas to enhance products and processes

• Streamline and improve the prior authorization process for patients nationwide

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience

• Over 5 years of experience in developing C# .NET software

• Proven experience in a leadership role within a self-organizing team of Software Engineers

• Skilled in managing stakeholder expectations to deliver timely, customer-satisfying solutions

• Experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs

• Strong grasp of SOLID object-oriented design principles

• Familiarity with database design principles and SQL

• Experience in implementing unit and integration tests

• Knowledge of software testability principles

• High proficiency with distributed source control tools such as GIT

• Willingness to tackle complex projects with numerous unknowns

• Commitment to adhering to engineering best practices

• Understanding of technical debt and strategies for mitigation

• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-pressure situations

• Initiative and accountability for assigned tasks

• Capacity to handle multiple and shifting priorities/tasks

• Video camera usage is mandatory for all virtual meetings
