Software Engineer, IoT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and develop the essential technology that powers Lime’s fleet of connected vehicles.

• Create backend systems for analyzing and experimenting with location and asset data.

• Contribute to Lime’s internal messaging platform.

• Develop scalable, efficient, and stable software for electric vehicles and their related features.

• Tackle strategically important technical challenges and create highly scalable foundational platforms.

• Overhaul existing core application experiences.

• Evaluate and reason about technology and architecture.

• Work collaboratively with PMs, Engineers, Design teams, Data Scientists, Research, and Operations teams.

• Contribute positively to the overall engineering culture.

• Engage in the on-call rotation.

• Address incidents, troubleshoot production issues, outages, and critical alerts.

• Escalate incidents and work collaboratively to restore service.

• Document issues to enhance service reliability and minimize recurring incidents.

⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates must be residents of Canada.

• A minimum of 1 year of professional software development experience in the industry.

• Proven experience in building impactful products or systems.

• Ability to write logical and maintainable code.

• Skill in providing constructive feedback during code reviews.

• Technical capability to understand project design and implementation concepts.

• Strong communication and effective prioritization skills.

• Willingness to participate in a shared on-call rotation, which may include occasional after-hours, weekend, and holiday duties.

• Experience with data and its associated infrastructure is preferred.

• Familiarity with Ruby and Go is preferred.
