This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and maintain features for full-stack web applications, including scalable distributed microservices.
• Take ownership of intricate features from technical design to production deployment.
• Comply with high standards for performance and reliability.
• Enhance and support the core web application stack to handle high-throughput traffic.
• Engage in on-call rotations.
• Diagnose production incidents and uphold high service level agreements (SLAs).
• Collaborate with teams across Product, Infrastructure, Design, and API Partners.
• Establish high engineering standards and provide mentorship through collaboration.
• Optimize CI/CD pipelines, facilitate container-based software distribution using Docker and Kubernetes, and enhance observability.
• Work closely with product managers and designers to create features focused on customer needs.
• Participate in decision-making processes that balance technical quality with user experience.
• At least 7+ years of experience in software development.
• Proven experience in building and maintaining highly available and scalable web applications.
• Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks commonly utilized in full-stack development on distributed systems, including React, Python, Go, Kafka, SQL, and NoSQL.
• A strong grasp of software architecture, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders across various organizations within the company.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, preferably in computer science or software engineering.
• Bonus: Experience in the shipping and logistics industry.
• Bonus: Experience in developing AI-powered customer-facing features.
• This role can be located anywhere in the US except for Delaware, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, Hawaii, New Mexico, and West Virginia; many positions are also available internationally.
