Software Engineer III – Front End/Back End

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Estimate and execute development tasks, which include coding, requirements gathering, and analysis.

• Enhance technical and communication skills to deepen contextual knowledge and mentor less experienced developers.

• Evaluate and troubleshoot issues within managed systems, prioritizing problem areas across various practice domains.

• Participate in on-call rotations as required.

• Create and deliver presentations about work for both internal and external audiences.

• Engage in planning sessions to gain insights into major architectures and design patterns.

• Assist in recruitment efforts by reviewing homework assignments and possibly participating in interviews.

• Lead initiatives to enhance team engineering processes and practices.

• Leverage understanding of the business, practice interactions, and customer challenges.

• Support scope, schedule, and delivery objectives with guidance from leadership.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to refine software engineering processes and practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of professional software engineering experience; relevant professional experience may substitute for educational qualifications where applicable.

• Must satisfy relevant contractual or labor category requirements concerning education and professional experience.

• Advanced knowledge in at least one technical area, such as front-end, back-end, full-stack, or infrastructure engineering.

• Experience in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining production software applications.

• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and contribute to scalable, maintainable software solutions.

• Proficient in communicating technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Preferred: experience in both front-end and back-end technologies within a full-stack environment.

• Preferred: experience in designing, building, and maintaining modern web applications and APIs.

• Preferred: knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.

• Preferred: proficiency with back-end technologies such as Java, Python, Node.js, or similar languages and frameworks.

• Preferred: experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.

• Preferred: familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Preferred: experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and contemporary software development methodologies.

• Preferred: background in Agile or iterative development settings.

• Preferred: experience in mentoring engineers or providing technical guidance.

• Preferred: experience collaborating with clients, product teams, designers, and technical stakeholders.

• Preferred: experience in supporting government or federal programs.

• Preferred: knowledge of accessibility, security, performance, and scalable application design principles.
