Backend Developer, PHP, Laravel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Construct and enhance backend functionality utilizing Laravel

• Convert business requirements into clean, comprehensible, and testable code

• Design and uphold REST APIs and, when appropriate, GraphQL APIs

• Integrate and assess external services, partner systems, and third-party solutions

• Maintain high code quality through code reviews, automated testing, refactoring, and clean implementation

• Develop and sustain technical documentation for APIs, interfaces, and integrations

• Participate in the planning, execution, and enhancement of features within an agile framework, including sprint planning and retrospectives

• Evaluate and implement new frameworks, libraries, and tools

• Collaborate with the agile team on technical solutions, code quality, and ongoing product development

• Assume responsibility for tasks from solution alignment to deployment

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in developing web applications using Laravel or similar frameworks

• Knowledge of maintainable systems, robust business logic, and dependable interfaces

• Experience in creating and integrating APIs and collaborating with external services

• Organized, transparent, and clean development methodology focused on maintainability and code quality

• Background in agile team environments, preferably with Scrum

• Familiarity with Livewire, ideally combined with Alpine.js, Flux UI, and Tailwind CSS (preferred)

• DevOps experience with cloud systems, PaaS platforms, containers, CI/CD, or Linux server management (preferred)

• Experience with e-commerce platforms and developing plugins or applications, such as Shopify or JTL (preferred)

• Testing experience with PHPUnit or Pest (preferred)

• Familiarity with event-driven architectures, queues, or asynchronous processing (preferred)

• Experience with modular applications and extensive codebases (preferred)

• Exposure to AI-driven features, automations, or product-oriented AI applications (preferred)

• Systems thinking, a solution-oriented attitude, ownership, and a methodical approach to work

• Capability to independently manage tasks from solution alignment to deployment

• Willingness to utilize AI tools in everyday development and assess their value for the product
